Default 1943 dated 2nd Pattern Denison on Ebay with Nickled snaps

Anyone care to comment? I don't remember what the R code on the acceptance stamp is either - if someone would be kind enough to post the letter code and corresponding year list it would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Todd G.

I believe R was 1948,looks like the 8 was turned into a 3.But the metal neweys also date this as a postwar smock .

Johan is correct, it means 1948.

Either that or it has been ordnance proofed once more in 1948. Given the nickeled poppers my guess is that it is a post-war made smock.

A poor and common fake being offered here as original.

What do people think about this?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...84.m1423.l2649

A little suspicious of the last part of the date missing? Although the "M" code would correspond to 1944, was it ever used for another date? I think the beret looks worn but the badge looks quite new in comparison?

Also in 1954 if I recall well.
Personally I would never buy from this seller.

£1220 on the "Generals" beret and the 1944 has been messed with, and it's not finished yet,are some people daft or what. How many Generals were entitled to wear the red beret in 1944?
