Be prepared for many e-mails
Original 2nd pattern medal type 'c' with the extra shiny/sparkly finish they seem to exhibit this late in the number range.
Who is the previous owner who also held the GPB ? An Austrian I'm guessing?

Now that it has changed hands, I doubt the new owner would object to keep the number for future reference - why would anybody, anyway ?

Sorry, borrowed from a different context. Chips, fragments, or flakes of a coating missing from a surface.

This BO could have possibly been cleaned. I once owned BO 4038 which had a very dark finish even more so than any 1st pattern that I have seen. The darkest ones seem to have been in the 4000 range for some reason.
