Default Some impressions of complete uniforms

I completed some Combloc uniforms, some of which seemed to take forever to find, and decided to show it here.

Yugoslavian 1960's uniform:

2 Yugo coveralls:

Serbian mid 90's Uniform with kevlar helmet:

Serbian 90's Winter Uniform:

Serbian late 1990's Kosovo War Uniform:

Czechoslovakian NBC Suit and Gear:

Soviet VDV Coverall Uniform (Has a VDV Shovelpouch added now):

Russian Chechen War Uniform:

And I would like to know if anyone recognizes this E-tool, I bought it as Yugoslavian but I have my doubts, it attaches to the belt through a simple canvas belt loop, it has no discernable markings. The pouch closes with a rivet through hole like ak pouches do

I also have some more impressions underway, Yugo 1980's, Soviet 1950's, Polish 1980's, and more that I can't remember right now:P
If anyone spots bad mistakes please inform

Cheers,
Michel

Thanks, those and the Yugoslavian ones were quite difficult to complete, I have a lot of other gear and jackets too, but those are not complete sets yet.
I'm also trying to complete a modern year 2000+ uniform, I have to find myself a Tactical Vest for it

Cheers,
Michel

Default another one

Thanks, here's another one which I completed yesterday, it seems I'm on a completion spree, I have been collecting too many uniforms at the same time, and now they're getting complete altogether
It's a Russian Spetsnaz 1st Chechen War impression:

Michel

It's VERY nice!
But I haven't seen any beige balaclava in russian spetsnaz... shouldn't it be a standard black or olive?

Well it's a Soviet balaclava, from the afghanistan times when the camelwool gear was made, these ones also show up in the 1st chechen war, after the Russian army started modernizing and also a lot of people started buying they're own gear, the black ones showed up a lot.

Cheers,
Michel

Have you got any pic showing that colour of balaclava? I would love to see one in use in Chechnya in 1st chechen war!

I'm asking for it because all of known to me data base show only black (Alpha, Wympiel), sometimes olive (Jug, Wostok) ones... but pics that I know are most from 2nd chechen war...

Here's one, it's a black and white picture, but this exact model of balaclava was made in only the grey end pink-ish color I was told on the red alliance forum, and maybe also dark grey (not sure though)
http://ra.spetsnaz.su/wiki/Image:072.jpg

I also read that these were sometimes dyed another color because well... they were white and pink, not exactly camouflage, the one on this pic may be dyed or just discolored from usage and dirt, this might be a 2nd Chechen war picture though:

The pink contraption is also seen as soon as the Afghan war, so my guess is it must have also been used in the 1st Chechen war, as about every military issue item was, either for it's purpose or as something else (like OZK boots for rain boots)
I really like the use of older gear in the 1st Chechen war, I once saw a guy in a 6B2 Flak Jacket.
I also like the later version camouflage woolcap/balaclava which was my other choice for this uniform, and some day a Sphera helmet will find it's way to my hands.

Cheers,
Michel

Thanks for sharing photos and your knowledge
And I agree - russian equipment in a first chechen war is a fascinating question!

As we are in that area, here you got a multi-different equipment of chechen rebels:

Maybe it will inspire you for further impressions

A great collection there, Michael!
I would only say that 1st pic is not yugoslav from 60's, but rather 70's. In 60's there were different (higher) boots and I'm not sure about the jacket. It should be of different, coarser type of woolen cloth. There should be a label inside the jacket.

And about misterios equipment - ET could be yugoslav (can you show it opened?) but the pouch is definitely not JNA, maybe some ex-yugoslav country after 1991. On the right side of that picture you also have JNA single leather pouch for hand granade (in use from 50's to the end) and 4-piece pouch for M-56 submachine gun frames, also JNA.
