Default FJ Helmet

Hi, i want to show you this Fj Helmet. The paint underneath the greenish paint is the original paint like inside. I took some pics with flash some without. The button of the chinstrap was cut off by the previous owner and thrown away. Opinions about the helmet are welcome. The helmet was found about 25 years ago and i could buy it from the owner. He wants 2500,- Euro and i am not sure if that is worth it.

You know the difference between WAS and IS....?

The starting price WAS a bargain - it WAS in an auction:

the chinstrap is complete by this late type !
but I don't believe that there is much original paint under the camo paint .

so the value could or must be reconsidered IMO.

I've owned a similar to this one.
Same green.
I always considered this paint as a post war paint.
I've asked myself if my helmet was used in another army like Yougoslavian army or elsewhere.Because several name in cyrillic on the leather.

The paint underneath the camopaint don´t look like that it was taken off.It looks only painted over on top of the reg. paint.skalp

That green reminds me of norwegian reissued german helmets...

I tried to make better pics from the paint underneath .I was just talking to the owner and he said that the helmet was found here in germany. Of course these days you never now....... Your helmet looks like that the pic was taken without flash.!?? I used the flash that makes the green look like much brighter than in reality.skalp

I remember that in the 80th's a lot of +/- hundred came out of Russia ,
found by a belgian guy . As he stated , they were used by mens on motorbikes.
All had a secund paint removed ......40% from original paint remained.

I cannot be sure if it is one of those .

It looks like the Bulgarian post-war paint.
