Default Yachthafen Peenemunde....what is this?

Spotted this in Yachthafen Peenemunde in 2008. I was in Peenmunde again a year later in '09 and it had disappeared.

I suspect it's ex-DDR but would be interested to know more about it. It looks to be a pretty powerful offshore boat and would love to have had the chance to get a closer inside look, especially at what type of engine powered it.

No idea if it's privately owned or not but it was not part of Peenemunde exhibits. The bottom photo is of the stern with nameplate on which may help to identifying.

Googling seems to suggest that it's a minesweeper built from the 60's.

I'd be interested to know if anyone knows more about this particular boat, who owns it, where it is usually berthed and if it is being renovated.

Correct, it is a minesweeper – but not DDR, it is West German Bundesmarine.
Some helpful information about this type of boats:

and

http://www.schuetzeklasse.de/

The boat you spotted was in service in from 1958 until 1992 in 3. and 1. Minensuchgeschwader, 1998 it was sold to a private person and came to Peenemünde. It was for sale:

But then bad things happened – in January 2010 it sunk:

Bad news.......and expensive bad news too!

At the time I saw it in Peenemunde it appeared to be under restoration. Though it didn't travel very far it was obviously seaworthy enough to make the trip.

From the photograph it doesn't seem totally beyond repair and would be a shame to lose it altogether. I only wish I could have taken a much closer look inside this boat when in Peenemunde. I imagine the engines sound pretty awesome when fired up too.
