Recently I acquired this German Police jacket. Althought it's beyond well made, there are some questions I have for this.
1. My source tells me that German police augmenting USAF Security Forces personnel at the USAF bases in Germany tell me that they wore a certain patch. This patch is one worn by DAF Civilian police forces performing gate guard duty at stateside bases; only this patch is written in German. There is a Velcro plate for a namebadge. What patch was worn on the left sleeve of this jacket as shown in this picture? Or were Staatspolizei patches worn on these jackets?
Also, underneath the left pocket, there was a snap by itself. Like the old BW parkas and shirts (buttons off by themselves on the front of the garment), did they serve a purpose?
