Hi Neil

Congrats on 2 very nice sets! Well done!

Is that an antenna part at the front?

The one antenna is in 2 pieces. It is kind of hidden in the picture.

The "S" model is very interesting with the black paint. What was different about it?

The S model doesn't appear to be any different other than the dark (Panzer?) Gray paint. It isn't quite black.

The serial number is over 1000 so it doesn't seem likely that it was some sort of prototype or test model. Did the serial numbers start at 1 or 1000?

It is interesting how there is a "4" and a "5" hand painted on the top of the radios. Since they were purchased as a pair, it is very likely they were grabbed by the vet as a pair. That is pure speculation though.

The difference may be inside. It would be interesting to perform an electrical evaluation.

Any idea as to why the serial numbers have the "S" and the "rom" on them? None of my other serial number plates have that.
