Default What does this code mean on a k98 bayonet?

The bayonet has the number S244g and the number 5049g.

The scabbard is marked S242 , 1937 and 6865a.

What I would like to know,...... is the bayonet 1937 production too?

I haven't any pictures to post at this time.

Thank you

Hello
S/244 G is for the maker "J. Mundlos" in 1935 (K is for 1934 and G for 1935). 5049g is the serial number of the bayonet.
S/242 is for the maker "Berg & Co." in 1937. 6865a in the serial number of the scabbard.
It is not the original rig because the bayonet and the scabbard don't match.

Regards
Alain from Paris
