As a technical accident reconstructionist I sometimes wonder what it would be like living in a world without cars.

What great photos!
These are really funny, but really rather sad, too. Pyongyang apparently has highways up to 6 or 8 lanes wide, but no traffic. And yet, these poor cops have to stand out there all day as though the traffic actually exists. It's like "The Emperor's New Clothes"...No one is actually going to stand up and say "Hey ! does anybody realize that we don't HAVE any traffic ???!!!"
Nope, better to just stand out there in your nice uniform and pretend...like everybody else does.
Of course, that might be paradise for a lawyer (which I am)...
I could walk into court with a limping client and say "He was hit by a car."
Who's going to say "That couldn't have happened!"

The nice thing about not having any traffic on your roadways is the low maintenance costs.
Here is another lonely Pyongyang traffic girl.

Not just you, sir! I'm trying to figure out a way to ask if my wife would "model" one for me. Well....that is if I could find a uniform like that here in the US.

Pyongyang Traffic Cops
The wide roads may be for defense use in case of domestic riots, revolution or invasion?
The female traffic cops look like Red Chinese female traffic cops complete with
short skirts and boots.
I always loved Vietnamese, Korean, and Filipino women!

Here are a few more hard working Pyongyang traffic cops. This one is standing in the middle of street car tracks. The tracks aren't rusted, so they must run the street cars once in a while. Notice the inoperative traffic control lights hanging off the pedestrian bridge.
