I have never seen or heard of web pouches for the 98k specific, although that doesn't mean they don't exist. Of course, there were canvas web pouches for k-43, ect. so perhaps some late war ones were made. As a matter of fact, I have always wondered why they didn't mass produce them out of canvas .
Anyone else have any info?
Johnnie

Does any one have absolutely any information on such a thing?

Who would use such a pouch?

Any surviving examples?

Maybe a snipers piece of field gear?

Thank you,

Would have to see one to believe it. Have never seen any proof of one in photos either.

This have been discussed in many years, and both K98k and the G/K43 have been presumed to have webbing pouches, but no one could provide a example who was 100% legitim. IMO: there dont exist, otherwise 44-45 dated K98k and K43 pouches would have been found years ago, and it havent been. Only examples that are been found is post-war production and reproductions.

Regards

Carl

I've never seen a WW II 98k pouch in web either. If they did/do exist, why assume they are sniper specific???????
