Default Craig Gottlieb

Since you had asked earlier (that thread got locked) about gun auctions and buying firearms, I am curious as to what FFL you hold.

Type 01. I am in the process of obtaining a Class II with SOT, which is not easy in California.

Thanks Craig
I was curious as the type would limit you on what auctions (specifically he type of firearm) you could buy.

Yes, Arizona would be a lot easier! And Tanker - you're right, having the FFL 01 makes things a lot easier. One of the reasons I got it is because often, when I buy collections, there are modern firearms available, which until recently, I had to pass on due to legal restrictions.

Good luck. I had one for many years and they will only grant you one if you are involved in the movie industry or law enforcement sales. I did both till I got tired of the BS. Fortunately for you I did get the worst DOJ agent fired so at least you won't have to deal with him.
Get a lawyer who is well versed in firearms law to help you and keep your records 100% up to date or you'll be going to jail in a hurry. California is actively seeking to get rid of all FFLs in the state so be very, very careful.

Gary: Point taken, and right on target. Fortunately, I've got an excellent rapport with the local ATF office. As for the Class 2, with SOT - I'm actually buying an already-established business that has LE contracts and already has the licensing, so I should be fine with respect to that whole ball of sticky wax. I plan on doing a lot of demos for the LE community here in SoCal.

I'm trying to start keeping it more regularly - it's a new years resolution of mine. As you can see, I haven't done a very good job of updating it. But it's a place to basically ruminate on different topics.

Hello ,
I do not know Craig at all, but have witnessed all of the "bashing". Here is my point:
I have yet to see a customer come foward and complain about firearm purchases. On every other forum when a dealer comes up there is always a "tale of woe". I really have no interest here other than to say " Where are the unhappy customers".
You can complain about his descriptions(and from what I have seen they are" too much")......But where are the angry customers?
Just my 2 cents
Jason

Yes, that was Odd. And I mean . . . the guy's name was actually "Odd." Except it didn't have to do with a return (my return policy doesn't promote transactions in the men's bathroom) Although speaking of altercations, there HAVE been more than one show attendee in my memory that has found himself on the wrong end of a knuckle sandwich. And no, I wasn't involved (though what this has to do with firearms I don't know).

The ATF is usually not a problem unlike what a lot of people would have you believe. Watch out for the CA DOJ(though I must say now that Bill Lockyer is out as AG it has gotten much better). Which outfit are you buying?

Gary: Call me and we can talk about it. I don't want to go public until it's a done deal. But I have quite a nifty inventory coming, to include this.
