Default 16 December 1944.....let's see your BotB books....

As a BotB buff, I thought, why not starting this thread.
I know that there are some good books out there

I will start with this Jagdpanzer IV or V crew member, involved with Schw.Pzj. Abt. 560
I also have his WP and drivers licence.

This unit was part of the 12SS Hitlerjugend Panzer Division as it replaced the division's absent 2nd Panzer battalion.
In this role, it stayed with the 12nd SS untill the end of the war.

I will post some more books in the coming days.

Ok, since no one is joining right now, I will post a second one.

This is a real combat vet!

He earned the Shooting Lanyard 1st grade already in 1935.
The Westwall medal, EK2, IAB, WBiB, Ostmedaille and the EK1.

First serving with 6 Inf. Division, he was transferred early 1943 to Inf.Regiment 751 of 326 Inf. Division. He escaped from the Normandy disaster at Falaise and was enlisted in the renamed 326 VGD.

This division suffered very heavy casualties in the Ardennes, already losing 20% of its strength the few first days of the offensive.

This brave soldier was wounded in the Bulge on 23 December 1944, in which he lost an arm.

Considering the fact that the big majority of Germans soldiers in these Volksgrenadierdivisions were inexperienced soldiers (original LW or Navy soldiers), he would have had a real hero status for his troops.

Default Small intermezzo....

Deutsche Wochenshau....:

Part 1:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYLo2bJhAnE

At 2:00, you can see Werner Poetschke, commander of 1SS Panzer battalion (KG Peiper).
You can clearly see the RK at his neck when he hurries back to grab a Panzerfaust, when stalking an American Panzer at Stoumont.

Part 2:

The rest of my books will follow soon.
