Amazing pictures and item. Thank you for sharing them.
It is a dream of mine to be able to own a 3.7cm Pak one day but you just never see them for sale.
Do you know any of the history of yours?

If it was mine I would be extremely careful about any paint removal. I have no knowledge in that department but I see a lot of red primer showing also.

When do you think the green was applied?

PM sent also.

Thanks again

good question
the pack was sold to th swedes and painted green during the war i do believe and then jump to the 60s when it was imported with all extras and 100 live rounds for the amazing price of 360 dollars ( i have a copie of the add)
a man , then a guy in michigan bought two in te 80s and after selling one and unable to sell the other i called him to ask general info questions and he basicly said if i come and get it i can buy it for a resonable price

It is always good to know the history of something in a collection and the story of your Pak is fascinating.

If the green paint is original war period I would be reluctant to remove it. For a start you will lose the yellow numbers and you could do long term damage if water is forced into sealed areas. The other thing to consider is you have no idea how much of the grey is still present.

I think it looks excellent the way it is.

Btw did you get my PM.

Thanks

SWEET!!! .. I always love seeing these in personal collections here in the US. My question is How did you get it here in Live condition? Why I ask is many years ago (close to 20 yrs) when I was re enacting , commander purchaced and imported about 7 of these he got from Finland but the breeches had to be cut off and a hole cut into the bottom of the barrel in order to bring them into CA.
We restored one for re enacting and I know he sold one to a group in AZ back then. Don't know what happened to the rest of them since I've not had contact with him in over several years.
Looks like yours might have been Chec or Finnish Post War
