NVA Steel Helmets
While I mostly collect NVA sniper related items, I also collect headgear and pistols. Here are some of my steel helmets:

This one has burlap as a liner. It also has strips of poncho liner tied to the netting outside.

the helmet with burlap for a liner is interesting! when the liners rotted away in the damp tropical environment they could continue using it with a burlap liner for padding!

Wow!!! Very nice helmet collection. The East German helmet has to be one of the rarest ones you have posted. You rarely see EG helmets coming back from Vietnam from this time period.
I have one that came back from Mozambique and feel very lucky to have that one. Captured EG helmets from any country are RARE!!! Nice finds!!!

Thanks, and congrads on your find. Very recently I saw a wartime photo of NVA soldiers wearing E German helmets. Of course I made a mental note to copy it later and now can't remember where I saw it

Advisor's helmet
I got this one from a former Marine who said that he got it from what he thought was a Chinese advisor. He said that the soldier was wearing Chinese khaki and was with a reinforced NVA platoon which inadvisedly took his unit under fire.

East German helmet?
does the EG helmet have the early WWII or M31 style leather liner? or is it the modified second pattern with a snap in plastic & leather with foam padding type of liner?
thanks
