They basically have transparent sheets inside so you can put a "Raster" coding sheet behind. Below two slightly different versions, one with lines, one without. Also note that the books open up differently. They both have exactly the same ordering codes, so I think these were just printing variations.

So would the plain text message go behind the transparent (like tissue paper?) sheet and the coded letter would be written over each original letter?

No, the Raster (a bit looking like an empty irregular crossword) would go behind the transparent. The original message would be written on the transparency using only the blank fields of the Raster from left to right, starting at a coded starting point. They would now be read in columns (again the column order is determined by the code), the coded message was written on a Spruchvordruck. To decode, the process is repeated in reverse order.

Maybe the attached article can help:

The German hand cypher is essentially a disrupted transposition code

Default RS 44 Rasterschlussel

The following is link to the great CD VANDT site with document on the RS44 Rasterschluessel. The interesting document has a preface by General Fellgiebel dated 27.3.44 and the document ends with item signed by General Praun dated 18.10.44 - General Praun replaced General Fellgiebel after the latter was implicated in the Ill-Fated July 44 coup attempt.

There is an item that I did not notice in Funksammlers photos of his amazingly complete kit. I am hoping one of you might have a photo of the the "Rolle Siegelmarken in Büchse", which I interpret as a roll of "seals" or stamps that are used to seal closed messages to prevent messages from being read by the messenger or clerks without the correct clearance.

Could you help and tell me which of them were used by Nachrichtenhelferinnen?

No doubt they followed the same procedures stated in the Luftwaffe Funkvorschrift. It depends a little bit what role the Helferinnen were playing (radio operator, telex operator, cypher staff), but they would use the Spruchvordruk (message forms), Abfertigerheften (message logs) , Betriebsbuch (station log) etc.

You can find all the relevant forms and descripitons of their use earlier on in this thread.

Thank you.
I am interested in Nachrichtenhelferinnen des Heeres who were working with Torn e.b. receiver.

Please, forgive me my question but I just have to know it
So if I use a RECEIVER and I only receive the messages (I do not send them) I should have Abfertigerheften (message logs) ? Am I right?

And I have one question more: Could you add a picture of Abfertigerheften (cover and inside)?, because they are unaviable, it's impossible to see them.

All messages coming through the message center would be logged. Incoming messages in one log book, outgoing in another. One is pink and the other is blue. I forget which is which right now but it is documented on this forum. (I am on my phone right now.)
Messages can be telephone, Teletype, radio, runner, semaphore, signal lamp, or even dog messenger. So there could be plenty of outgoing messages, besides outgoing radio, unless it was a pure monitoring station. An example of that would be a station that listened to allied bomber transmissions.
