Default WWI French 1915 Adrian helmet

Hello All,

Yesterday a good friend (Thanks Fred) gave me a very nice WWI French 1915 Adrian helmet and he told me "you have to keep it !".. For sure I'll not sale it, French helmets never was my thing but when you have an historical interest in WWI&II you must have some basic items IMO. This stuff was still around on flea markets some years ago, no more today, specially in that condition !

Enought say, let's talk the photos, enjoy !!

Happy collecting!

Default WWI french adrian helmet - 1915

Bonsoir Jean-Loup,

Peinture "Bleu horizon" or "horizon blue finish" for our engish speaking friends, and I must add this is an Infantry helmet (flaming bomb badge affixed to the front).
This is the most classical helmet worn by the French soldiers (les poilus) during the WWI.

Fred, my friend have an important Adrian helmets collections, so far one of the best I know by quality etc. so I could post some french helmets from time to time if there is an interest among our readers.

Happy collecting!

That's the nicest WWI French helmet I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of them. Thank you for showing it, Philippe.

A very nice piece!
And here is one quite rare piece - French M-15 Adrian, "blue horizon" colour, BUT issued to the royal Italian army, one of the earliest series to be delivered, as far as I know. Notice that for Italia it is made without holes for a badge and the emblem is painted, a criwn and the number of the 61st regiment Trento.

And here is my infantry M-15 - too far from perfect condition...

...and here come the Zouaves /Spahi/ from Afrika:

...and at last comes the WWI Serbian Adrian /the big liner rivets are for the Bulgarian liner added to it/:

That's my contribution to the M-15 theme

Not sure if you were aware or not but these helmets were also issued to the Soviet Army during the 1920s and were used up until the mid-1930s.

Hello

Just to add a comment to Ciaran's thread, the Adrian had an "international" career since it was also used by Mexico and the Kingdom of THailand, as far as I know.

Hope I am not wrong about Mexico, I quote from memory.

Regards

Denis
