Better shot of this battle damaged M42 helmet:

Because of the area where it was found (Denjansk) and because of the remanents of black outline around the silvery surface of the decal and the little black there is leftwithin located with what seems to be the left over of the right rune I believe this lid to be an inverse decal SS Helmet:

The Helmet is in ground dug condition and was found under less than two meters of earth, in a destroyed German bunker, so helmet has an advanced state of corrosion. Part of the helmet dome is gone; visor and rim are extremely corroded and chipped. The rune decal is visible and to my eyes is an ET, with traces of helmet’s paint around decal and on helmet's front. This Relic has no markings or traces of them left due to condition; also the helmet doesn’t have a liner or a liner band.

Yet i really love this piece....................
Some better shots:

That is correcto, bought from Dimas (Espenlaub). I´ll amend my files, then the TK one is the M42 !!

Thanks for the correction Spin!!!!!

Any other info or anecdote you can share about the finding of the lid?? Were there any other items found together with it??

Nothing very special, but this was my first relic helmet, my Father went to Greece in 2003 and I told him that if he found one to bring me another German helmet for my collection.

Up to that point i only collected lids in good condition......

When he brought this helmet, Man!! I was hooked, the condition of it fascinated me and more over that it was dug up from a battlefield. I started researching about relic lids and well the rest is history……

I am now a relic fan!!

Enough relics i tried to take a photo of my M34 Reissues, yet the light is really bad as its raining...

Not the best photos, but something is something........

M35 KM DD reissue
M35 LW DD Tunis captured reissue

Dear Besslein, it is very possible as the Blue division crossed poland on a long march to the front and got rid of some of their equipment maybe even some dog tags to make the march more comfortable and less load, if they were like mine that might be the case as these were the type used by the first contingent of men
