that's very nice indeed.

that gasmask is a brittish one I think, the US had only one type of gasmask (because they only fought one year) and that was this one:

My waffen SS relics

The helmet was found in the Demjansk pocket, in a destroyed bunker, 2m down.

The screw was taken form an abandoned bunker close to the adlerhorst

Great stuff! I noticed the Pickelhaube is missing the spike. I have one from an old helmet I bought when I first started collecting and is now just an unused part. Yours if you want it.

My humble Optic collection

Some Spanish:

One of my favorote helmets, that was a present form my father:

The relic below was found in Lipovic, in open terrain, not in the forrest at quite shallow depth, 30 cm, still some white wash remians and traces of the LW eagle:

Another of my relics, this M42, was found in a bomb hole by a local, Demjansk Pocket:

it has shrapnel damge to the side, interisting enough, the decal, what is left of it, does not appear to be Heer, but SS silver, yet to the level of damage, who knows what it was.

Below my relic from stalingrad:

The helmet, that started it all!!!!

This was my first helmet. My father always wanted a German helmet as a kid, and in the late 50´s a friend of his brother, my uncle, brought this helmet to him. It is a M35 field repainted; it has two inscriptions carved on the front and side one rereads “Tunis” the other May 1943.

Inside the rear inner skirt, it has a name carved that reads Proshell and in the liner it has a cloth name tag. Unfortunately I regret to have played so much with it as a kid, as I lost the original chinstrap and almost destroyed the liner.

The helmet is a DD, the LW adler is covered up by the thick field applied paint. The tri color shield, looks like it was touched up, at what point I don’t know as it was like that when it was obtained.
