just a wild guess here, maybe the "K" stands for "cold climate" as it does on grenade markings. I never saw this on binos before. Glenn

The binos are pre- WW2 military issue. DF 6x means Doppelfernrohr 6 x ( 24) Most early Zeiss military glasses were marked DF.
Best regards, Tom

Where is the "K" ??? As far as I can see te socalled K is an X after the 6. That means 6x - 6 times magnifying.

Steiner,
As Glenn said, the K probably stands for kaltefest or cold resistant.
Regards,
Fred

Default Goerz 6x24 Armee-Trieder

One more example of a letter K on a binocular.
These binoculars were found in the attic of an old house in western part of Estonia. The leather case and the binoculars have the same makers mark C. P. Goerz, Berlin. On the binoculars there's also: 6x24 Armee-Trieder, D.R.P., serial nr: 375169 and a letter K.
A little research showed that it belonged to an Estonian volunteer who fought for Finland during WW2. He was in the German army, then escaped to Finland in 1943. Joined the Navy, served in Turku and on coastal defence ship Väinämöinen. He took part of Teikari island battle. In September 1944 he came back to Estonia, retreated to Germany and fought in the 20.Waffen-Grenadier-Division until the end of war. After the war he was in a Soviet prison camp and then came back to Estonia and lived for a long time.

"K " is the mark of acceptance of the German army ww1 (Kontrolle Gewehrprüfungs kommission Spandau Berlin). Regards. Pippo
