thanks Pete, I have often wondered what might still be out there, since the area is not hospitable to visitors just driving out there. Seems to be a wealth of history . Thanks for showing us.

Amazing pictures of what is left laying out there! The Italian grenades are something else

I visited the Imperial War Museum in London last year and there was an LRDG vehicle which had been recovered from the Libyan desert a few years back. I will try and dig some pictures out and post them accordingly.

Regards Richard.

I have seen the IMW LRDG truck and It blew me away .
It also appeared on the front cover of After The Battle .
As you all know this is the best WW2 magazine in the world .
I Think a group from Wales are sorting it out it new condition , which is a shame .

A few more pics you might find interesting, these pics were taken earlier in the year by New Zealand LRDG historian and group whom recently went to libya to organise a future LRDG reunion that will take place I beleave next year along with other countries that had members in the LRDG.

These vehicals had recently appeared come about by the shifting sands. Everything that had been exposed to the sand and dry heat and been effectively sandblasted with no rust at all.

Nothing was touched and everything left as it was found, apparently the local authorities were strict on this.
