Default Opinions on K98 Pouch w/Paper Label "Gend. Patrlt."

I recently added this early pattern K98 pouch made by C. Pose-Leder of Berlin, dated 1936 to my pouch collection. Rather uncommon with two paper labels glued to the leather, one on the back and one inside the middle lid. The label inside the lid has stood time better than the other. The label reads: "Matthias Hofer" and "Gend. Patrlt.".

What does "Gend. Patrlt." stand for?

Nice pouch Rich! I was looking at that one. I was also wondering about the unit of the label, unique and original... I have a 1937 one by the same maker pionier marked.
