Hard to say exactly what we are looking at. At best it is an original shell with with era paint and part of a decal..........at worst you might have a post-war repainted original shell. Since it has been running on ebay for 5 days now with no bids, buyers are getting smarter....in this case at least.

Thanks Ade.......those Czech helmets will always sell. Have seen that helmet before. Here we have a first time bidder "stealing" a DD camo M38 for about $1700. That is how these guys get hooked...they jump on ebay and see something figuring no one else sees what they just "discovered". A shame..... I know of a dealer who bought a Czech repro DD M38 for $2500 because it was brought into a show in a brown paper bag, by a young kid who said his uncle brought it home from the war. There is a buyer for everything.
