Luft. Enlisted Breast Eagle - Colour?
Hi Everybody,
I'm sorting through some cloth at the moment, and came across this breast eagle. Maybe there is no question in my question but the blue backing colour has thrown me. Does this shade of blue signify anything or is it just a standard enlisted eagle?
Thanks for your time.
All the best,
Toby.

Hi,
Can you post the back ?
Looks like a strange eagle to me,wing feathers are uneven etc.
But first let's view the back...

Hi Toby,
Hope this finds you well, and thanks for the mail
Jos says that he thinks your eagle is "strange." Though Jos is strange too I must agree with him, and it's not the backing color that makes me say this. Please study the 'Luftwaffe Breast Eagles' thread and compare the birds posted there to yours, and not just the general shape, but the wing feathers as Jos suggested, and also the tail feathers, and the swas..
Best,
John

Jos,
Thanks for replying. I see what you mean about the wing feathers. Here's a photo of the reverse.
Cheers,
Toby.

John,
Good to hear from you. I agree with both yourself and Jos that it does somewhat strange (I shall look for that eagle post in a moment). But what do you make of the backing cloth (mesh)? Is this sort of mesh suspect?
All the best,
Toby.

Hi Toby,
Some eagles are backed with a type of 'mesh' but I've never seen any that looked like this. When time permits I'll look for some with mesh to post.
Best,
John

Appears to be a fake. Wrong color, wrong backing material, and the swastika doesn't look properly formed.

I agree that this is a bad eagle.
