Really nice display here with great Dak items & superb mannequins too...their faces look repainted/made-up...are they Greg?

Thanks Thierry & Barry for your comments.
Thierry, Most the heads I use are the webster Heads which come lightly painted I then redo eyes and airbrush more shadows & highlights and finally apply a matt varnish.
Here is a pic of some in prosess that I have just sprayed ready for varnish.
Really like the way you have done your heads and posed your mannaquin!

Very nice job Greg!
Yes almost same way of make-up (i only use brushes when you use an airbrush but for a same result at the end)
I'm always thinking that "good" mannequins (i mean with right size & fit and realistic & customized faces) greatly improves the uniforms displayed...which are already very nice in this case!
Congrats for your collecti n!

Hi Thierry,
I agree in that well done mannaquins really add to the displays and its just as important to alter them to a good proportinate size and posing them in a realistic pose as you have acheaved in your displays. In time I hope to complete most my half mannaquin into fullsize.
I'm most impressed with the results you have acheaved with a brush not an easy thing to acheave in 1:1 scale.
Here are some Kiwi's I have done.
Greg

Exactly as i love Greg! Really impressive & realistic attitudes,
hands on pockets, Beards, mustaches or pipes give the final touch that makes all the difference (the Evil is in the details!)
The display on several levels also gives a visual perspective for a very nice set...& Kiwi's displays are not so common, they deserve close up!
(perhaps already shown..?)
Greg, i don't know if you know but some Kiwi's have participated in the Dieppe Raid, especially New Zealanders squadrons of the RAF flying on Boston
RAF New Zealanders Boston crews / Dieppe 1942
C ngrats Again!
Best from Dieppe

Thats a great photo Thierry and not one I have seen before.
Not meaning to take this thread of the Dak Track but will just add this one pic of some NZ Pilots I did quite a while ago in my Old bunker pre - earthquake.
The in progress mannaquin below was shortened extencively and webster head applied ready for filling & painting.
And agree again with you..its all in the details especially the pose , tilt of the head, positioning of hands etr. I have posted in the mannaquin forum over the years so have done various setups and displays but love the way you have created a real museum feel to your collection. (especially with your well done mannaquins which make all the difference)
