Question FREIWILLIGES LANDESJÄGERKORPS Freikorps Medal

I believe this medal to be an original medal from the Freikorps FREIWILLIGES LANDESJÄGERKORPS...do you think it to be original? I also believe that Reinhard Heydrich was a member of the FREIWILLIGES LANDESJÄGERKORPS in his youth .... does anyone have some further regarding about this unit? Cheers, Torsten.

from what references I have found about this, I believe that this particular medal should also be made from silver...but I cannot find any silver contents mark on the medal??? should there be a silver contents mark? Handling it, it certainly does feel and look like it is made from silver ... Cheers, Torsten.

Torsten: Here's mine for comparison; I can't guarantee this one is an original either (despite my hopes ) , but it appears quite similar in most aspects to yours. Also, as with yours, mine has no hallmarks either.

Hope this helps--Gaffken.

I am, however, fairly certain that the ribbon here is pretty incorrect (although that's not an issue with yours, of course)

Can you get a larger closeup of any part of the medal? From those photos it has a cast look to it.

Hi Brian, I am quite sure that it is not cast! The only other example I could find was shown by Andre Huesken for sale and I would have thought that mine looked very much like the one he showed....this is the only other photo that I have got at the moment...I will take more photos later today when the light is better and when I have more time. Cheers, Torsten.
