It's always a pleasure to visit the museum in Poteau, I went there already 2 times and perhaps I will go again this summer. Also the owner is a very nice person to talk with

Lots of stuff, and great dioramas - but if I could choose one, (to get the contents for free...): LaGleize

The left one (armed with MP40) dark-green HBT trousers, the right one most propably standard M43 wool trousers.

No, the Kaiserbaracke and Poteau photos were taken on the same day: December 18, 1944. The Kaiserbaracke photos were taken around noon on December 18, 1944, and show le. SPW (Sd.Kfz. 250) from 2./SS-Pz.AA1 of Schnelle Gruppe Knittel as they waited for their fuel supplies to catch up with them. They then moved on to Stavelot and crossed the town between 13.00 and 14.00 hrs. The Kaiserbaracke photos also show SS-Ostuf. Goltz driving up in his Schwimmwagen. Pallud misidentified him as being Leidreiter but some years ago company commander SS-Ostuf. Coblenz himself identified the officer in the Schwimmer as Goltz. Note that the same Kriegsberichter also photographed and filmed Knittel and the real Leidreiter in la Vaulx Richard: Pallud misidentified Leidreiter as Goltz on that occassion so I don't tend to believe the other names Pallud gives in his book.

No, they show a staged attack hours after the real attack. The Kriegsberichter had been with Schnelle Gruppe Knittel earlier that morning, taking pictures of the Sd.Kfz. 234/1 from Stabskompanie but also of SS-Ustuf. Stiewe and his bogged down American Jeep with Sternantenne. This is the same SS-Ustuf. Stiewe who can be seen with the SS-Rttf. smoking a cigarette under an American M8 near Poteau. He was the adjutant of SS-Sturmbannführer Knittel. The Kriegsberichter then moved on in the direction of Poteau, took the photos of the staged attack, then moved on to Kaiserbaracke and staged some more photos there before moving on to la Vaulx Richard.
