I recieved this pair of K98 pouches as part of a group of pouches I bought. All the pouches were standard WWII German production with maker marks or RB numbers except for the one on the top in the photos above. It is unmarked, with a diamond pattern in the leather that makes me think it may be a post-war Czech pouch. The internal dividers are present (one is broken), they are not made of rawhide but rather a clear celluloid as seen on some late-war paramilitary helmet chinstraps. The pouch on the bottom in the photos is dated 1937. I am planning to sell these so any information on this strange pouch is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any comments or opinions.
Hello
No it is 100% German ,just made from a different grade leather ,I have seen them before and owned 2 ( they were RBnr #). They could have been made by a foreign contractor.
Nothing wrong with this one
Best Regards
Pierre-Yves

Hello,
I agree with this statement.
Leather received an other treatment. You'll find that kind of leather on the extendible sides of some leather map cases...
ciao!
