Tommy, the jackets show up for sale on occasion. Prices, of course, vary by camo pattern and condition. The tan and water patterns seem to be much rarer and quite more expensive. I paid a bit over $1200 for the jacket about 2 years ago. It came with a pair of field made camo trousers, so I was very happy with the deal. Peter Whamond has had one on his site for quite sometime. I think that his price is above market as he is asking if I remember correctly around $2600 for it. I would put market value on these jackets around $1500-$2000 in good condition and splinter pattern. But, that's just my opinion.

Interior Shot. I discovered when I turned it inside out that this jacket did not originally have provision for shoulderboards. These loops and button were added to the jacket. Loops are probably zeltbahn material. Not a big deal as many of these jackets were issued without the loops.

Last shot. Detail of armpit area from interior. There are 5 holes under each armpit for passage of the belt ramp hooks. Hope this is what you need. Good luck in your quest.

Colours the Camo Jacket
Hi Jack,
Gorgeous jacket. Can you tell me what the base color is? I know that olive/dark green & red brown are the camouflage colours on top, but what of sort of hue is the base green? Thanks for your help, and the pictures are great.

Tommy, this is the standard cut of the jacket and what you should expect to see from a factory supplied piece. There will be some variations as you will see different styles of buttons and methods of closure used on the sleeves. Otherwise, to be a true field jacket, it should look like this one.
Field division fliegers are fairly uncommon as this was the waffenfarbe color for only about one year. In my opinion, many items that are identified as HG because of the white piped boards when in reality they may be field division after the change of waffenfarbe color. If you find a good one, with green tabs and boards, expect to pay around $650 to $700 for it.
The base color of the jacket is almost a light grey. Probably somewhere close to a gray green. This is the canvas version of the jacket, very similar to zeltbahn style material. But, the print is single sided.
