Default KVK 1st class for review

Hi all,

Here is a KVK 1st class I got from a fellow board member. Maker marked "43"

1. Does the maker mark look legit? I can't find a picture of other crosses by this maker (although this maker is certainly listed as making KVKs).

2. Notice the heavy vaulting that someone put on the badge by bending the arms of the cross. You can see the crimp marks from the pliers on the obverse. Is this common?

Check out my EK1 thread as well!

The badge is right on. The crimping marks I can't explain, except if it were to make the badge vaulted. The vaulting of badges was done, was it common? I guess it was common enough to know about. I have a 43 WMCw/swords and its the pin that gets me. They are exactly the same. I thought mine was just a flawed pin. I will post a picc.

Thumbs up

Hi janvs,

I agree with the others, a perfectly good cross. I`ve attached mine which came from Detlev. Unfortunatley the `43` is impossible to make out from his picture - but trust me its there!

Best regards,
Adrian.
