Folks, I must say I learned alot by reading all of this thread. I only have one item I think is Reichsbahn related. I have absolutely no idea what it is. Perhaps a cap device. Take a look if you would be so kind. Thanks again for a great thread. Robert

Diane and wvd paris, I give up!!! can you please point out the error you two speak about. I have looked at both and have some ideas. but can you please identify?
I have never had much interest in pure reichsbahn collar tabs and shoulder boards until I came across this thread. although I have been into bahnschutz tabs and collars.
I am going to look at some collar tabs tomorrow and would like to be informed.
thanks jim
p.s thanks for the print link!

Error defined
Hi Jim,
Look at the collar tab illustration with the asterisk next to it. There is an error in the design as the tabs have one row to many of oakleaves. This style of tab was manufacturered and may have been unique to the Director General of the Reichsbahn.

bullion tabs
I just picked these tabs up today and thought I would share them. the pictures don't do the beautiful gold of these tabs justice.

Show us your Reichsbahn stuff!
This is an old thread that I wanted to bring to the top again. Here is the 1935 Reichbahn Rank chart from a German Publication I found on the web:

Rank Insignia Change of 13 Feb 1941
This is the rank insignia change effective 13 Feb 1941:
[Rank Chart Deleted]
Note the adoption of Rosettes (Round pips) instead of the 4 pointed rank stars used previously.
At this time the new collar tabs were adopted also.

The 1943 Reichsbahn Insignia change
This change seems to have affected only the higher ranks of the German Railway service:
[Rank Chart Deleted]
I have never seen this pattern illustrated before (Abs 2a, b, c, d, e). Does anybody actually have an example of these shoulder boards?
Thanks for looking.
Diane

Very interesting informations for the Reichsbahn collector
BUT I know we are on the internet world but, I desagree with posting of the posts 53-56 !!! Gest information for every one BUT those rank chart are out of a very recent german book and as far a I know those are copyrighted. For those having interest about the german railway uniforms here is the book, I will invite you to buy It.
I have nothing with sharing original informations but in this case I was only thinking this is missing of Respect for the work of the autors.
I will only give the following precision : this answer was not agains Diane, someone I appreciate much and I don't have any auctions in the Book.
Michael
