Guys, I was hoping for some opinions on this badge that just arrived. It is the smaller version. What bothers me is that NS Frauenschaft isn't in red enamel. Please take a look if you would and tell me what you think. Thanks to all. Robert

Don, I'll get back to you in a minute. Re-scanning. Robert
I can't see any red traces at all in the lettering. I scanned at 300 rez and when I look from the side it appears that there is a line that runs all the way around the side of the badge. Here are 2 more scans. Thanks . Robert

Here is hopefully a better shot of the writing on the front. Thanks Rik for the link. Marks do look different. Thanks.
Robert,
I just looked at Kai Winkler's website and the few Frauenschaft badges he has like yours all have red lettering and the only M1/109s are lacquered. Take a look and see what you think.

Sorry for the delay. I too have been through all my reference pictures & can't find an example without the red
Cheers
Don

James, Don and Rik. Thanks for all your help. I even went so far as to show it to others I know to see if they could see any red. A life rune is easier to display to the public. There is no red. M1/109 appears only in painted version and the markings on the painted ones are a lot sharper as well. Add to that the poor soldering work and reverse finish and the conclusion is: back in an envelope and off to the post office! Thanks again. Robert
Just a personal opinion but looking at a lot of other pin type badges it seems that the solder holding the plate is also a bit blobby, if you know what I mean. It hasn't been allowed to heat more and flow into the depression and make a neater job. OK its only a fairly common badge so to speak but these were all seemingly made with a bit of care. Just an idea coupled with the thickness of the RZM mark and the number, of course it could just be late manufacture...
Regards
M Gibbs
My best guess is that is it a cast fake made by using the painted M1/109 version as a positive 2-piece mold. Then they filled with enamel, but used all black because they were cheap / careless. That would account for the side edge seam, poor RZM mark and the blob on the back.
