This is a cut down 4 pocket tunic that belonged to Col. Karl E. Baumeister who was the CO of the 320th BG(Med/B-26 Marauders) from May 25th 1943 to Sept 25th 1943.

Nice Jackets Gary ! Isnt the DI on Baumeister's jacket the 17th Bomb Group? Did he belong to that unit later on ?

Here's another. He was a Lt. in the 82nd airborne but other than that I have no other information. I picked him up in the bay area about 9 years ago at an estate sale but the people running the sale knew nothing about the family. The insignia that is on the tunic is either pre war US made or British made.

This guy was tiny! Also the jacket is the English made "ETO" jacket.

Default Ike Jacket

Greetings,

Couldn't pass on this thread. Pictured below is my dad's Ike (worn by my son.) Took the picture this summer. Dad modeled the jacket as well but can't button up like a teenager. We have a picture of dad wearing this jacket at the end of the war in Germany/Austria.
