This is one several that I have showing animals.

Thank you all for the lovely thread!
Strange that the famous pictures of those Estonian SS-volunteers with a kitten and egg grenades has not yet been posted.

Best,
Vincent S.

Great photos here Lads !!!

hs132 - I especially like your photo of the Shepherd on the SS Half-Track....great stuff.....

Here's another one of mine, a nice little photo taken either pre-war or early wartime during "War Games" training (sorry for the somewhat poor quality of the scan). Note the Shepherd's leather muzzle, the field-use leather leash (the issue "chain" leash / collar being strapped around his Handler - note also the Dog Handler's message container). Also of interest are the white-bands around the War Games Judge's sleeve and visor...

Taken just before being shipped off to the front....again, note the leather muzzle and the dog-accessory kit carried by the Dog-Handler himself...

Here's another one from my files...Looks as if the dog had to be white, as it would otherwise deminish the camouflage effect. Note the so-called Grossdeutschland Tarnjacke, an oddity on its own.

I have another picture showing a Heer Leutnant holding a small kitten, but have to refrain from posting this image, as it will be featured in my upcomming book.

Best Regards,
Vincent S.

PS: Hundesstaffel, this thread must be your cup of tea I reccon, given your username?

Yes Vincent, I'm LOVING this thread, believe me !!!

At the risk of sounding vain, I do have some tremendous Hundefuhrer material, to include numerous SS KL Hundefuhrer ID's, Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe Hundefuhrer ID's, Hunde Awards Documents, Hunde photographs, etc.

*** I have only chosen to post some of my more "routine" Hunde photos, as some of my images (especially SS images) I would rather not have spread all over the net ("Watermarked" or not). Also, many of the Hundefuhrer Wehrpasses have very unique and distinct stamps / entries which (again) I'd rather not post due (unfortunately) to the fakers lurking about with their laser copiers, etc...

I completely understand, that's why I keep from posting the photographs that appear in my book. Other "high-end" items also stay unpublished, at least on the net, just for safety's sake. I have seen it happen quite a few times that photographs popped up all over the place, while I had them 2 metres from where I'm currently sitting...

Internet, how handy it can be sometimes, is also a place of fraud and dishonesty.

That said, let's enjoy this marvelous thread.

Best,

Vincent

I'm quite fond of horses...On condition that they are flanked by German troops, that is.

Best,
Vincent

Ever seen a cow with a French Adrian helmet on her head? Well, now you have...

Not the best picture, I know, but I guess it fits in here well.

Vincent S.
