A fellow Vietnam collector requested that I post these patches for him until he can post pictures himself. He and his dad collect together and have developed an outstanding collection of Vietnam insignia.

In looking at the brigade SSI’s in black you will see differences in the design. The eagle on the left is far more detailed in the feathers, and the shape of the wing is more detailed. One other distinct difference is that there is a small line inside the outer black edge that goes all around the edge of the patch.

In many instances one will be not be able to recognize the differences. It is only after you are able to view the patches side to side that the differences are apparent.

On the righrt is a brigade pocket patch.

These divisional SSI’s also exhibits similar design changes as shown in the previous post and in post #35. What the division patches also shows is a better view of what the background color should be.

O'Kim
love that tiger cap .
Just the way you always want to see them , with the nasty PVC sweatband ...perfect .
also note the use of scrap fabric to make these caps see the peak???
No waste ever .

Owen, how correct you are, WASTE NOT, WANT NOT.

I have gone through the TIGER STRIPE threads on the USMF and Camouflage uniforms of the Vietnam Wars Part 1, was educated to the hilt.
It was very informative to see how many patterns and colors are available, especially for a insigne collector.

Will post another light weight uniform I recently purchased shortly. It has a beautiful light green color totally different from the gold.

Something of a well known, attributed beret.

Unique tailor label to be found in this one.
