What makes these so special? The only difference physically to an 1870 A cored cross is that the date has been changed to 1914. In my opinion these are the most early crosses you can come by from the First World War.
Talking of the A14's, this is probably the most detailed and nicest A14 EK2 I have encountered. These are usually quite crudely cast as you have noticed.

In the background is a 1796 pattern enlisted/NCO model light cavalry sabre, which of I'm certain it hasn't just been held in a scabbard during the Napoleonic Wars as the blade has quite rough scars which doesn't come from any light strikes.

Good morning,

Thanks once again for the much appreciated comments!

I'll take my camera out on the evening once again and post more. I'll be going out now and enjoy the rarely encountered sunny weather here in Finland

I do really enjoy searching for more variations of the clasps to the Finnish Commemorative Medal of 1918. The official ones engraved in different styles, different languages (mainly Finnish and Swedish), then the unofficial clasps which weren't engraved according regulations.
Such as one clasp "Ahvola" I have which was one of the most toughest single battles on the Karelian Front. Owner decided to have that battle engraved on the clasp instead of the Official Karelian Front (Karjalan Rintama). Then there's even one that I have where someone engraved their own name.

Second picture is of one of the two award cases (Extremely rare) that I have. I like this one in particular as it's named. The awards of Finland are very rarely presented in cases contrary to German awards such as the Iron Cross 1.Class.

Amazing Dan. You should get an Instagram as well and start getting followers. There are not many collections shared in the way you have found to express it

Thank you!
I do have an Instagram account, but not one dedicated for photography of these items. Perhaps I'll create one some day, when I start to have better photo equipment?

Excellent collection you have and wonderful photography! May I ask how you get such nice photos and especially the lighting? Do you use a shadow box? Really well done!

Thank you! It's all about contrasts and focus, sadly I don't own a shadow box. Perhaps it would be my next purchase.
