Default One Vets bring backs

Great thread! I have always enjoyed cut insignia and found this odd little assortment of german and italian insignia from the same vets stuff. Note the cockades cut from the trop caps and the flight collar tab with the einheits insignia stitched to it. I am open to suggestions on that one... Chris

Hi Chris. Could it be two souvenirs the vet sewed together? Sometimes they get creative with their bringbacks......Interesting to see the cut off cockades. A dealer with a bad rep had several a while back, but I steered clear of them because I thought they'd be easy and cheap to fake. I also couldn't picture a soldier just cutting off the cockade and not the eagle but yours look like he might have been collecting cockades on different backings.

Default Luft collar

This is a neat item. It is a complete Luft collar that was torn
from a tunic. Makes me kinda sick because I wish I had the rest of the tunic.
Only showing half of the collar.

Nice, early, piped collar, Tony. I've just received another entire LW collar; this time for a Signals NCO.

Nice collar Bob, do you have another one?
I find it intersting that guys pulled off an entire collar.
My guess is they grabbed whatever the could carry.

I do like the stiching on mine, it shows the quality that went into these tunics.
It's also a good reference when checking the stiching characteristics on tunics.

Yes I do Tony, a piped Flak collar.....I find they're a little difficult to display, and such a large piece of the tunic that I sometimes think I should have saved up and bought the whole tunic.

Bob,

One way to display these collars is wrap them around the base of a styrofoam head or whatever you use for headgear. With the right cap and collar it makes an awesome display. My collar still has the wire and catch on it.

About 6" of piped NCO collar Tresse on ribbed material. Got this along with the Fliegerbluse eagle (from a different tunic) I put on the LW breast eagles thread.
