Default TR Luftwaffe or BW Luftwaffe ?

I have a "Tailor made "Flight NCO tunic in my possession that has a vexing mix of Third reich and Bundesluftwaffe features...I'll describe the mix....let me know what you think....

BundesLW. features:

-Deep Scalloped pocket flaps (all 4) top pockets are smallish bottom pockets are patch pockets not hidden bag pockets.

-Tunic made of a Darker than normal smooth Blue material

Third Reich Features:

- French Cuffs

-Internal sleeve lining different than body liner (which is DK BLuegray) ..sleeve lining is the typical white w/ the pin stripes

- tunic sleeves are a bit longer than the tunic body (third reich fashion)

-Tunic has early droop tail eagle

-Collar piped in Yellow cord and has LW NCO braid TR Yellow tabs

-Shoulder boards are tailor made smaller fashionable NCO type plaited rayon piping

Thoughts.............

Scalloped pockets are not necessarily disqualifying. Really need to see photos.

John S,

Unless the manufacturers lables have been removed there could be Bundesluftwaffe lables either on the lining or inside an interior pocket which may help you identify the tunic. Early Bundesluftwaffe tunics were a slightly, but noticable, darker blue than later ones.
As is said above, photos would be the only way to know for sure.

Regards,

Gordon

Yeah, need pics. French cuffs were on the early Bundeswehr-Luftwaffe tunics as well.
