Default WW1 German Blanket?

Can anyone confirm that this is a WW1 German military blanket?

It is similar to German military blankets on display in various museums in the Ieper area of Belgium, but that doesn't necessarily mean a lot.

I picked up this particular blanket at a market in Waterloo Belgium in January 2012.

The dimensions are approximately 137 cm x 205 cm. It has a grey base with dark green and off-white stripes. Portions of the blanket are faded.

Opinions would be welcome.

Regards,

Ben

Without any marks, it is nearly impossible to say for sure if it is German or not. Many versions of the end stripe blankets were used, not only by the Germans, but also other combatant countries. I have gray one with brown and tan end stripes and it has stitching on it for the 103R. I've seen them with red/white/black stripes and with none at all.

Thanks for the feedback. I certainly agree that's it difficult to tell on these. I have not been able to locate any markings on it.

With it being found in Belgium and not too far from the WW1 battlefields, I figured there was at least a reasonable chance that it could be WW1 German and certainly a possibility that it's military.

In the end, I only paid 5 EUR for it so I'm not worried too much one way or the other.

Regards Ben
