To some degree the frame reminds me of a S&L ?
What are the arm across to arm measurements ??

Why it is so that the frame has so different finish than the other S&L crosses? IMO the difference is really significant.

Yes J. & Y. ..... the Deschler Book tells us exactly what this cross is .
A Muster 2 type frame with a Muster 3 style core .
Painted frosting and polished frame inadequacies ... we see on other makers early crosses like Juncker and W&L .
The poor coverage was probably not seen when done - only later the missed spots become quit noticeable and wear over time added on top of that .
