Default KM Colani question

I bought this colani recently and am curious if anyone has ever seen the EK2 ribbon applied this way? Most photos I’ve seen show it on the top left button.

Definitely uncommon, but that doesn't automatically make it wrong or a postwar addition in my view. Provenance would be nice, an original wearers photo even better..

Thanks for the feedback Martin. Unfortunately it didn't come with any provenance. In my opinion, the ribbon seems to be original to the jacket, but who knows.

I feel like this may be similar to the ribbon being sewn through a breast pocket button hole on an army tunic, uncommon but not incorrect.

I could only find this photo showing the ribbon through the lapel during an EK2 award ceremony.

Cheers,

All are WW1 EK ribbons with reinstitution device (1939 and the eagle)

Here is also WW1 EK ribbon with some device

And here are WW2 EK2 awarded to EM/NCOs - with ribbons tuck into the buttonhole of the lapel
