Very nice, congrats Justin!

Wonder about one thing though. I get the Z standing for Zerstörer and (S) for Schnell but the U standing for Unterseeboot......

Yes, sounds very uncommon, but it is correct.
The flottilla was established in the 1920s with the Designation UZ-HALBFLOTTILLE.
Diesel-Motor boats, first equiped with motors from the former airships (Luftschiff-Motoren). Before the flottilla was formed, the single boats were named LM1 up to LM .... (i believe LM24), LM standing for Luftschiff-Motor.
These boats were created to search, hunt and destroy submarines near the coast and near the Harbours. So they got the new designation UZ-boats = submarine-destroyers.
End of 1920s the flottilla was divided in two lines of development, one following the defense against uboats, one the surface warfare with fast motor-boats.
The line of submarine-destroyers died in 1930/31 and the designation UZ was not longer used.
The designation UZ was abolished in 1931 and they got the new designation Schnellboot (fast- or speed-boat).
All orders concerning this unit and the tallies can be found in the MVBl and OTB.

Regards Markus

Thanks to John Robinson for acquiring this and allowing me to purchase from him. This gives me one example of the known Schnellboot tallies:

Schnellbootsbeglietschiff Tanga
Flottentender Tsingtau

UZ (S) Halbflottille
1.Schnellbootshalbflottille 1.
1.Schnellbootsflottille 1.
2. Schnellbootsflottille 2.

I am so very happy.

Regards,
JustinG

After several years of searching. Dani F was able to help me track down my last U-tender: Unterseebootstender Mosel. This makes it a complete collection of u-boat and related ships/units having at least one example of each in my collection.

I am indeed all smiles today.

Happy to help. Now you only have to show us all these beauties together side be side. I'm sure a special sight for every cap tally collector!

Rgds
