Hi

Photo #3 is same photo as one in "The Normandy Battles" by Bob Carruthers and
Simon Trew but without the information you have provided. Was the photo yours when it was used in this book?

Regards
Larrister

Hi Larrister,

Thanks for joining in on this thread. The photo is a US Army Signal Corps press photo just like the first two posted and the information is stamped on the reverse...I forgot to mention that the photo has a censor stamp stating "Passed for Publication, 26 July 1944 releasors initials SHAEF Field Press Censor" So it could be in a number of books. If you are hinting at a copyright violation pertaining to the book you referenced there isn't one where press photos are concerned. Thanks for asking. Bill

Kev,

Thanks! I aim to please!!!

Here is pic of German POW's that were just loaded up in a US Army truck in Fredeberg, Germany. notice the weapons and gear laying on the ground...one soldier is inspecting a K/G43. No doubt that will be brought back to the USA as a war trophy.

Mike,

Thanks your comments are much appreciated. Here are a couple of pics of POW's in a camp...quality isn't that good as expected toward the end of the war...some GI's still trying to work out their newly captured cameras...no doubt!!!
