Default Show us your Easr German medals

There are probably already nmerous threads on EG medals, but whats out there !!

I've spent a little time in the former East Germany and bought one or two items only to find it available in the UK at half the price, there's a lot of it out there, I believe there is a book in relation to EG medals but I can't track it down so what is there out there.

Here's a selection of some of my medals, it's not my forte in collecting so I could have more but all the money seem's to go on one expensive minty common Third Reich medal, the prices are defeating me now and I'm considering just collecting just EG, Russian, Japanese and 'other world' not to mention the fakes which is taking it's toll on my enjoyment of collecting.

Kind regards,

Marcus

that should of course say East German not Easr

Not that one... The medal I am referring to is in frame 6 next to the long service medal. It has a purple ribbon with red yellow and black narrow stripes down the center. The pendant is silver. It says something about Zivil...

If you have another to sell, I would like to buy it!!!

Where do you get most of you medals?

Thanks
Paul Reck

Paul,

It is the DDR Civil Defense Medal of Merit in Silver (Verdienstmedaille der Zivilverteidigung).
