Hi Bill. I found some info you might think was interesting about Colonel Johann Georg Goebel (the press photo you shared with the captured WSS-Jager). I know it was a while back, but It gives some background info, and a relic that is most interesting bearing his name.

Hope you enjoy it.

Hi

Photo #3 is same photo as one in "The Normandy Battles" by Bob Carruthers and
Simon Trew but without the information you have provided. Was the photo yours when it was used in this book?

Regards
Larrister

Hi Larrister,

Thanks for joining in on this thread. The photo is a US Army Signal Corps press photo just like the first two posted and the information is stamped on the reverse...I forgot to mention that the photo has a censor stamp stating "Passed for Publication, 26 July 1944 releasors initials SHAEF Field Press Censor" So it could be in a number of books. If you are hinting at a copyright violation pertaining to the book you referenced there isn't one where press photos are concerned. Thanks for asking. Bill

Hello Annelie,

Thanks for your comment and joining this thread. If you have any photos of your Father as a POW it would be great if you could post them. Regards - Bill
