That's why I suggest the moderators to change the title of this thread to something like "The insignia of the Italian Royal Army"
I very much agree with this idea. I will be absent for about a month and therefore I will not be able to continue with my posts until the future month of January 2020. Therefore, I send all my best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Best regards

An example of schematic drawings. Infantry Captain (not assigned to a regiment). Knurled buttons with infantry badge and shoulder straps with infantry embroidered badge and red piping:

One of the many variants of the war-uniform introduced in 1940, in this case obtained by transforming the pre-war model: Captain of the 3rd Piedmont infantry regiment. Fabric in officers' quality; collar of grey-green color (by replacing the previous one in black velvet with red piping) with reduced collar patches; semi-fixed plain shoulders-straps without any badge, insignia or piping (in this drawing they are not reproduced); synthetic buttons of vegetable origin; elimination of the cuffs’ piping; badges of ranks placed on the cuffs (and not above as before) in reduced dimensions (in this case gilded chevrons instead of the yellow rayon ones):

The basic war-uniform of the officers in darker shades. To the side, the shoulder-straps used with the various models of the officers' uniforms from 1934 to 1943:

A nice portrait and a pair of shoulder strap for the summer white jacket of a Major of Infantry. Unfortunately the red piping is very worn and therefore almost invisible:
