Very pleased with these a recent acquisition!
I have about $1100 US invested in this material. 5 items total
= 2 caps, pants + tunic and over coat! What is the value?

The winter urshanka should have the same wrealth as the visor hat. Only the first hats from the early 60's used the schiffchen wrealth I've learned.

Very nice acquisition. I think you got it for far less than it's actual US market value. I think Tony's estimated value probably comes close.


There are those of course that will argue the value is whatever someone is willing to pay.


Regardless of cost, you have a very nice ensemble. Congratulations.

Good comments.
Yes the Ushanka is a real Astrakan senior officers military grade version HOWEVER it is not NVA-DDR. It is a Soviet one with DDR generals insignia,
and yes a simplified (overseas cap) wreath on it...as opposed to the more ornate visor type wreath devise... Good eye!
Still works as a filler and theoretically an East German general could have easily obtained a high quality Russian fur cap while in the Soviet Union.
