Default Very odd Deschler cap eagle

I don't know what to make of this one, looks authentic to me but I've never seen another like it.

Obviously the head is strange for a start but there are other odd features as well like the wreath which seems oversized but prehaps that's because the sides flare out more than usual and give that impression?. The chest and neck feathers are totally different to other Deschlers that I'm aware of.

Help!

Interesting, I think it's a good one. I believe the odd head is result of a flawed stamping.

I agree that something went wrong when it was stamped, hence the sides flaring out much more than usual.

Chest feathers are also wrong besides the head. Vince

I wrote that the chest and neck feathers were different in my first post.
Fakes are usually copies of known originals, so why is this one so different?
If it's a fake then so be it but please provide some solid evidence..

The evidence is that the chest feathers are not correct for a deschler eagle. Vince

Well, I guess Chris will eventually see this thread and then everyone will agree with his opinion., good or bad.

No offence Chris, it's just the way it is on this forum.

I just remembered something from at least 10 years ago and it was seeing these similar splatter dots over the surface which was evidence of fakery but I don't recall why.

Maybe someone else does remember?
