I just got these today. The cyphers are CupAl with copper colored prongs (2 prongs per cypher.

Verso. You can see that the aluminum color of the prongs is worn away leaving the copper color showing.

Bob,

They appear unmatched from the backside view. I think you should sell them to me and wait for a clearly matched set. They are not quite worthy of your collection and you deserve a perfectly matched pair.

bnz. 42...great icon, I don't remember that as a choice or I probably would have used it about 50 times by now.

Yes, the boards are slightly mismatched on the reverse. They came together so I don't know if they were taken from two tunics or one.

I have a perfectly original M-40 tunic with slightly mismatched boards that are original to the tunic. Who knows? I will just have to suffer until a better matched pair comes along.

I like them slightly mismatching sometimes! It is a sign of the era and as well a sign of original. I have seen other sets with provenance that are mismatching.

Me too,considering that it was most probably factory scrap material that was used to construct them, I would expect to see it on occasion.
