That is true and if a parcel was sent within Europe it wont be opend from the customs department, but such things happened, I have had also a loss a few years ago, it was only an EKII but a loss is a loss.

I dont trust really much into our german postal system, they have a lot of season workers from time to time, and it depends also to WHERE you are shipping, if you sent something to Weitze for example, it could happen that the parcel was opened.

All the best for you

Matt

That is really crap Keith, it is so unfair that they happily take the insurance payment then in cases I have been involved in put up impossible goalpost - they asked for the original receipt on a medal they lost!!
I have wanted to send some oak leaves to Dietrich for verification but am so nervous of shipping them that I have put it off and off.
I too will keep a look out, I hope they show up.

How long have they been missing Keith?

I have known of parcels being held up for months, but arriving eventually.

First off, I am very sorry for that this happened to you. Second, how much did this item cost you? Second, how much was the item insured for? I would give it 30 days at least. I just got lucky recently with a purchase from Europe myself. It was opened by customs in Europe and here in the US. With that being said, it could be an address issue; my item took a while because the address was written wrong. I contacted our postal service where I live and they geolocated my package after US Customs.

Hmmm. Royal Mail? I won't send items more than $500 by anything less than FedEx. How much are these things worth? I'm guessing a fraction of the cost of a plane ticket for one party to come and collect. Maybe just me 🙄

It's a very expensive item. I don't understand why the seller didn't insured it up to the value you paid ? Did you pay with Paypal ?
