Default Help identify the markings...Dress 98K Bayonet

Picked up this dress bayonet some time back and have been searching to find what these markings represent...121 DRP.

This marking is only on the bayonet. Could be on the scabbard underneath the leather frog but I'm not going to try to pull the frog from the scabbard for obvious reasons.

My guess is something like Deutches Reichs Police or Post???

Over all condition is very nice. Blade is marked Paul Weyersberg & Co. Solingen. Reverse of the frog is also marked. Remnants of the knot is still originally tied to the frog.

Thanks for the help.

Maybe it's just the lighting, but the blade markings seem to be a little too reflective/silverish. Pictures in more natural lighting would help here, with maybe some more of the frog? FP

picture wout flash on normal one color background could help, possible the frog is for dress item of similar branch, DRP service frogs are normally DRP District marked, anyway the remains of knot are not proper here. b.r.Andy

Thanks for confirming the DRP marking.

This came from a veteran and WWII collectors estate. Not sure if he added the broken knot but that's how I got it and that's how it will stay.

As requested a few more pics in natural outdoor lighting...

Yes Reich Post issue. Paul Weyersberg made 99% of Deutsche Reich Post side arms.
You sometimes see metal back frogs with "DRP" stamped on them. The assumption is made they are also Reich Post, when DRP was also a patent mark like DRGM.

Yes since this post I have seen these types of frogs with the DRP stamp. I will be seeking one to replace the frog on this one .

Thanks for the help and comments.
